Metaphysics seeks knowledge of all things from the most radical perspective, that of being, present and presupposed in all other knowledge and wisdom. For this reason, Metaphysics is of extraordinary importance for the whole of Philosophy, and also for theological reflection. Through Metaphysics, students are taught to investigate the foundation of all reality and its ultimate meaning. The main themes to be contemplated in the course are four: the apprehension of being, being as an act, the transcendentalities of being and the metaphysical analysis of causality. These themes can be systematically ordered in different ways, and each one of them also presents characteristic aspects. In this course we have also included a few themes on the Philosophy of Nature (Cosmology).
